Annual Mardi Gras 2010
The 2010 Byhalia Mardi Gras King and Queen selected was Ken and Sheree Edwards of Byhalia, Mississippi. The selection is based on costumes and the "participation of fun" at the event. The proceeds benefit Byhalia Beautiful and the Byhalia Arts Council. The annual event include Papa Don McMinn and Nightrain, a silent auction, the Taste of the Chamber and door prizes. The Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce thanks everyone that donated, attended and volunteered for the celebration.

Annual Light Up the Town Lighting Contest
The Byhalia Garden Club and Byhalia Beautiful sponsored the Annual Light Up the Town Lighting Contest in the Byhalia, MS City Limits. $50.00 was presented to each winner in the following categories: Business or Public Building: Best Overall: Trinity Missions Health and Rehab of Great Oaks Most Original: Professional Services Residential: Best Door/WindowL Janis & Boyd Greene Best Overall: Scooter & Sonia Dempsey Most Original: James Reagh The sponsors would like to thank everyone that decorated their properties and showed their Christmas spirit. Lucky Last Draw Winner at The Chamber Celebration
Jackie Gilmore of Olive Branch, MS was the winner of the Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce's Lucky Last Draw fundraiser held on November 29, 2009 at the Chamber Celebration. Ms. Gilmore won $500 cash for her $10 donation for the BACC's projects and programs. Nineteen other cash and prizes were given away to other winners. Another Lucky Last Draw will be held at the chamber's Mardi Gras Fun-Raiser on Saturday, February 20, 2010. For tickets call, 662-838-8127.

The 14th Annual White Oak Classic Golf Scramble Fun-Raiser
The 14th Annual White Oak Classic Golf Scramble Fun-Raiser was held on Monday, October 5, 2009 at Kirkwood National in Holly Springs, MS. The tournament had two flights, CLM Insurance Hit The Spot Contest, Putting Contest and Tent Sponsors: 95.3 The Rebel & Servpro, a Live Auction, Door Prizes, Goodie Bags and Raffles. Tournament Committee members were Chairman Bill Kinkade (Champion Awards) Mika Joyner & Linda White (Synovus Mortgage) Rick DeBardeleben (Town of Byhalia) Donna Kaplan (Moonraker Graphics) and Jacob Norton (Citizens Bank) Master sponsors were 95.3 The Rebel and Champion Awards. Major Sponsors were Fencing Solutions and Construction, A & B Distributing, Precision Metal Works, Trinity Missions of Great Oaks, Mid-South Ag Equipment and Campbell's Glass. A live auction was held with trips to Heber Springs, AR and the Liberty Bowl donated by Champion Awards, Kirkwood Stay and Play given by Kirkwood and a vacation trip donated by First Security Bank.

The Tommy Woods Annual Golf Tournament was held at Plantation Golf Course in Olive Branch, MS on Thursday, October 1, 2009. Invited guests enjoyed a round of golf, barbeque dinner and prizes. First place winner was the Bank of Holly Springs team.

Jennie's Flowers and Gifts
Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce has begun a new program to recognize members that are making a difference by supporting the chamber with a membership and community investment. This is a random selection from members in good standing. Jennie's Flowers and Gifts located at 150 E. College in Holly Springs was surprised at their 5th Anniversary Celebration. Owners Betty Burch and Irene Strickland strive to be involved in many aspects of Marshall and the surrounding counties with deliveries six days a week. They have been recognized for good customer service and business promotions. Their pottery selection includes Peters Pottery, Good Earth, Terry Gill, Beloved and Etta B.
